In Audience Comments, Darlene Zarnstorff stated she was at meeting in support of Marinette County Elderly Services.
Olivia Cherry with Marinette County Elderly Services spoke to Town board regarding services to the elderly people of Marinette County. They are a private Non-Profit Organization. Their main service is the Senior Nutrition Program. They provide all home delivery meals in Marinette County along with 5 senior meal sites where anyone over 60 years of age can come in for a meal for a $5.00 suggested donation. The annual budget is just under a million dollars. Funding sources include Federal monies and Marinette County. The majority of funding is through donations and Fund Raising. Currently they received notice that Federal monies, which is through “Older Americans Act” will be cut $15,000.00 this year. They are considering cutting their service by one day to make up the difference with this cut from federal government. Board members agree to review at May meeting.
Jessica Paneitz & Troy Van De Wall with Marinette County Fair Board requesting an extension to the Fairgrounds Lease. The Fair Board is considering some projects and are running out of space at the fairgrounds. They have a lot of youth involved and do not have enough barns and the ability to house everything that they need for the animals. With the need to build another barn and putting the money into it they have concerns that there is only 20 years left on the lease. So, with that, they are looking to extend the lease 20 years. Town Board will review at May Meeting.
